ISSUE: Should gender-neutral bathrooms be mandated?

Compose a paper that takes a clear stance on the issue you selected. Support your stance using evidence from three different, credible sources.

PAPER GUIDELINES:

Introduction Paragraph:
v In lieu of contextualizing your sources, provide background information on the issue you are writing about. Utilize a source(s) to help you develop the content of your introduction, but you must be sure to include an in-text citation. This source should be different from the ones used in your body paragraphs. Imagine that you are writing to an audience that has no prior knowledge about the issue, and that it is your job to fill them in on the essential information before you dive into the arguments in your body paragraphs.

End your introduction with your thesis statement that takes a clear stance on the issue you are writing about.

Body Paragraphs:
v Each Body Paragraph should be organized to contain an Argument, Evidence and Analysis (in that order).

v Each Body Paragraph should present a distinct Argument that directly supports your thesis.

v Each Body Paragraph should incorporate information (in the form of a direct quotation or paraphrase) from a different article to serve as Evidence. Because you will be working with three articles, each article should be designated to a different Body Paragraph. Be sure your Evidence is directly relevant to its respective Body Paragraph’s Argument.

v Each Body Paragraph should end with Analysis that explains the significance of your Evidence in the context of your Argument/Thesis. Tie everything in your paragraph together in a meaningful way. Avoid merely restating your Argument at the end of your Body Paragraph (circular reasoning).

Documenting Sources In-Text:
v Include proper in-text citations (Author(s)’ last name + page or paragraph #) at the end of each direct quote or paraphrase.

v Introduce your Evidence with appropriate signal phrasing (Source(s) + Credibility + Signal Verb)

Incorporate TWO Argumentative Styles:
v ONE of your Body Paragraph must contain evidence that contains numbers (Logos).

v ONE of your Body Paragraphs must present a Counter Argument (applying the structure from Unit 6) OR provide Evidence that evokes a clear, negative emotion (Pathos).

Conclusion: Provide you reader with a final and impactful plea as to why they should buy into your stance on the issue you presented in your paper. OR provide an overarching insight based on the information provided in your paper’s body. Avoid merely summarizing the Arguments from your paper’s body.

THIS IS WHAT I HAVE ALREADY SUBMITTED AND APPROVED AS MY STANCE AND THESIS STATEMENT. I WILL ADD SOURCES AND PLEASE FEEL FREE IF YOU TO ADD MORE SOURCES IF NEEDED TO COMPLY TO ALL THE REQUIREMENTS
