QUESTION: This assignment has 2 parts.
Identify 1 philosophy that justifies the judges actions and why it justifies his actions.
For this part, you’ll want to focus on the theories in part 1 of the book. You should be able to recognize elements of hedonism, desire satisfaction, and egoism. Choose any one of those and explain how their actions were aimed at increasing their own happiness, satisfying desires, or self-interested.
Apply 1 philosophy that would condemn the judges actions and explain why his actions conflict with that philosophy.
For this part, you’ll want to focus on the philosophies in part 2 of the book. You should be able to recognize how these actions are anti-utilitarian, violate the categorical imperative, are a violation of the social contract, or are vicious (the opposite of virtuous).
