The name of Specific Treatment Facility I will be written about is The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation is a treatment facility they have inpatient and outpatient for adult and youth.

The facility offers many service and function for inpatient and outpatient program and activities that include but not limit to.  The programs are group therapy, individual therapy, educational presentation and workshops, special focus group, mental health services. They also offer help for patients struggles with mental health issues such as post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Inpatient treatment

Inpatient treatment, also referred to as residential treatment, provides the highest level of rehab services for patients diagnosed with alcohol or other drug addiction. Typically, inpatient drug rehab programs include medical detox and integrated mental health services (par.1).

Going to inpatient treatment by choice is a first step of wanting help. However, this is time where the patient is at the high risk of experiencing drug or alcohol withdrawal, also if the client had try a less treatment but it did not help them to stay sober. This why inpatient is so important because the patient is struggled to stay clean. It no time frame on how long a patient will stay at the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation it all depends on the patient progress in meeting specific clinical milestones.

Outpatient

Outpatient treatment for substance abuse can be an ideal option if you have the motivation to get sober but can’t take leave from work, disrupt school attendance or step away from other responsibilities in order to stay at an inpatient rehab center (par.1).

Those are two different kind of outpatient treatment they are high intensity outpatient treatment and low intensity outpatient treatment.  The high intensity outpatient treatment is a day treatment or partial hospitalities this the highest level of outpatient drug and alcohol rehab.  The low intensity outpatient treatment is following the patient did the higher level of care.

The patient must continue group therapy.  At the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation the patient is almost the same as inpatient treatment the only different it cannot monitor the patient 24/7. So, the patient must come to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation a set number of days per week and hours per day. The family involvement in the outpatient is important factor for treatment.

 Detox

The first step is to ask for help, them have confidential phone assessment with the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation medical staff. Then you will go in for a four day stay to see if the foundation is a right fix for you.

Inpatient alcohol and drug and rehab.  A Detox is the first step in helping your brain and body heal from substance abuse. The detox process begins with evaluations by medical doctors and nurses to determine which, if any, medical interventions are needed. Detox is primarily a time to flush the chemicals from your body, which can be an uncomfortable experience without the right medical care to help ease discomfort and/or drug cravings. Hazelden Betty Ford medical staff will work with you to evaluate your level of discomfort and provide you with medications, if needed, to address any discomfort or cravings (par. 6).

The client will be medically monitored 24/7 until medical staff determine they are stable enough.

After the medical staff give the patient the green light to clear to join the other patient they will be doing some activities family program participation, spiritual care, group therapy to address chemical health, induvial chemical health assessment and therapy. Therapy are based on science, evidence, and experience of help the patient to stay sober. They can be using the twelve-step facilitation, cognitive behavioral therapy, and solution focused therapy.

Special Population

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation have six specialized treatment programs they are opioid and heroin treatment, teen and young adult rehab, treatment for older adults, women, professional and first responders.

According to Hazelden (2019) Adopt the right attitude: Here are some things to keep in the back of your mind as you talk with your grown child: Manage your expectations. This will likely be the first of many conversations you will have with your adult child about addiction. These are not easy conversations to have, and not all of them will go well. Remember, addiction treatment and recovery are a process and they take time (par.3).

Yes, the love who are helping someone with they recover will be hard, painful and stressful but if you going to help you must be nonjudgmental. Because the teen is at low part of the life as of this moment.

According Brené Brown (2010) The word compassion is derived from the Latin words pati and cum, meaning COURAGE, COMPASSION, AND CONNECTION: THE GIFTS OF IMPERFECTION “to suffer with.” I don’t believe that compassion is our default response. I think our first response to pain—ours or someone else’s—is to self-protect. We protect ourselves by looking for someone or something to blame. Or sometimes we shield ourselves by turning to judgment or by immediately going into fix-it mode (p.7).

Dr. Brown make a good point the children is already feeling shame now everyone know they are on or during drugs and now that shame is worsen now.
