I need a evidenced based research paper done. It should be 8 pages long. I will attach the guidelines requested by my professor along with the 3 articles.

I am not sure on what the title of the article will be but here is my PICO question that I used to do the research for the articles: How can early education/implementation of incentive spirometry decreases the risk of hospital acquired pneumonia of older adults in the ICU?

  • Identify a problem-focused phenomenon based upon your observations in clinical
  • Critically analyze published research related to this phenomenon and nursing practice.

 

This assignment will help you gain experience conducting an introductory EBP paper on a phenomenon related to an identified problem found in your clinical practice.

  1. Conduct a search using the various electronic databases. Limit the search to the past 5 years and to peer-reviewed journals.
  2. Review abstracts and print three of the most relevant research articles related to your phenomenon. A minimum of two articles must be primary sources and one may be a secondary source. Articles reviewed should be representative of what is known about this phenomenon
  3. Read each article critically using the guidelines provided in your text/class.
  4. Write an annotated bibliography. The paper should contain:
  • Title page (3 points [per APA])
  • Abstract (7 points)
  • Main body of paper (70 points)
  1. Introduction including thesis statement, relevance of this phenomenon to nursing, purpose of the paper, databases searched and key search terms used (20 points).
  2. Annotations include annotations from 3 articles (10 points/annotation X 3 annotations=30 points).

*Annotations must include:

  • Citation per APA (2 points)
  • Summary of article in your own words (3 points)
  • Critique of research article as a source of evidence (5 points)
  • Summary and critique of each annotation should total 200-300 words
  1. Conclusion –include evaluation of the strength of the evidence and targeted recommendations (interventions), gaps identified based upon this review (20 points).
  • The paper should be approximately 8 pages long including title page, abstract, main body (introduction, annotated bibliography, conclusion), and reference page.
  • This is a formal paper. Paper must be written in APA (6th) format including annotations, references, paper format etc. (10 points).
  • Headings to be included: Abstract, Introduction, Annotations, Conclusion, and References per APA (6th)
  • Writing style, spelling, and grammar (10 points).
