We all have various socio-cultural identities that shape our life experiences and in turn our health. Please complete a 3-5 page culture & health reflection paper that responds to the prompts below and incorporates two academic peer-reviewed sources as well as information from at least two different chapters in the textbook. It may be helpful to refer to Figure 1.1 on page 4 of your textbook. Upload your paper in the assignment tab in Module 1 by the end of the week.

Reflect on the following questions in your response:
1) We all have social/cultural identities (e.g. race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, age, gender, social class, marital status, ability status, height, hair color, etc.). Which of your social/cultural identities are most salient for you? How do these identities shape your lifestyle/environment and the way that you respond to the world and the way that the world responds to you (e.g., privileges and oppressions)? Considering this, how have your salient social/cultural identities impacted your health-related behaviors (or lack there of) and/or your overall health outcomes.
2) If social/cultural identities (and related social systems of privilege and oppression) impact health, how should this awareness shape the study of health and the diagnosis and treatment of illness?
