In Naming What We Know Collin Brooke and Allison Carr (“Failure Can Be an Important Part of Writing Development”) call for considering failure a necessary part of the writing process and allowing “terrible first efforts” to become “an opportunity for growth” (1). They suggest “treating failure as something that all writers work through” (1). Consider the essay you crafted for your college class (attached below “Marx)1. Apply four points from Brooke and Carr’s chapter(also attached below) that helps you understand the process of writing and how you see yourself as a writer.
