Part 1. APA Formatted Cover Page (remember you are the author of this paper and your institution is NOVA). Formatting help is available through the Purdue OWL site (Links to an external site.) or NOVA library site (Links to an external site.).

Part 2. The Paper portion – the paper portion will be at least 2 full written pages and must include the three sections outlined below as well as at least 3 in-text citations plus a quote with in-text citation

An Introduction (one paragraph) that includes the following points:

Why you chose this study/article?
The name of the article, the journal it appears in and the author names (check Purdue OWL site as there are formatting rules for when items are mentioned in papers) -this is not citation
Why do you feel the study/article is relevant to current health care?
A Summary of the article/study (the summary is a minimum of three paragraphs) that includes at least one quote from the article and 3 or more in-text citations (the video below can help with formatting).

Rule of thumb- You use citations whenever you have a quote, ideas, or paraphrase from the source you read [in this case your approved article]. For information on in-text citing formats use the OWL Purdue Cite (Links to an external site.) or Library Citing Guide. (Links to an external site.)

The summary should include at least the following points:

What were the goals of the study/authors?
What research was conducted, this can include methodology, in this study (i.e. surveys, lab tests, interviews, etc.)?
What were the findings of the research?
What were the conclusions of the authors based on the research?
What are the future uses or implications of this study, its results, or findings?
A Conclusion (one paragraph)

Your thoughts/ideas on the information (study itself, conclusion, future uses) in the article
Part 3. Reference Page with a correct citation for the journal study/article you used for the paper in APA format. Remember, you submitted this in the previous module for approval. If you did not receive full credit in the last module due to formatting errors you will need to correct this for the paper. You only need to cite the study article you read-you do not copy the article’s reference list. For most of you, that means you will only have one citation on the Reference page.

Remember, within your paper, you must have correct APA formatted citations (in-text citations) for any statistics, quotes, or information stated directly from the article. There are several sites to help you with this but Purdue OWL (Links to an external site.) is one of the best. You can also look at the examples from the library session with this in-text and citation help document links to an external site.

You will not have an abstract/summary (and this will not be graded if you include one).

Additional Requirements

The assignment should be at least four pages total (cover page, 2 full pages of the writing portion of the paper, and reference page), typewritten using Microsoft Word, Arial or Times Roman Font, 12-point, 1-inch margins all around, double-spacing (or an equivalent format).
