FILM REPORT FORMAT- Enough (starring J. Lo)

.) BRIEFLY SUMMARIZE THE PLOT. Keep it simple. (not more than 2 typed pages for this) When and where does the story take place? Why is this important?

.) Describe the abuse that happens in the story. Use examples from the “Power and Control” wheel. How did the victim react? In what ways did she seek help? if she did.

.) Are there other people, (i.e., non-abusers), in the victim’s life that could have intervened? Who are they? Why did/didn’t they intervene?

.) How does the abuse end? (if it does, if it does not – why? – does the victim simply grow up and leave the abusive situation? Runaway as a teen? Get married?)

.) Identify and describe what you think is the worst incident of abuse. Why this particular one? Support your choice.

.) Describe the victim’s personal strengths that help them survive.

.) What did you learn about domestic violence/child abuse from reading this book?

.) Briefly describe your feelings as you read it. If you were in a professional capacity, could you work with either the victim or the victim’s family? Why/why not?

(FYI. You do not need to answer the questions in the above order. Do not cite these questions specifically in your book report. Simply write a narrative that includes answers these questions. If a question does not fit in with the story that you read, ignore that particular question. First, start with a brief summary of what happens; then get into the “critique”. These questions are simply here to help guide you through the actual narrative. The report should be 4-6 typed pages, double spaced. No outline/bibliography necessary. If you have any other questions, ask.
