Appealing to pathos is about appealing to your audience’s emotions. Authors use pathos to invoke sympathy from an audience; to make the audience feel what the author wants them to feel. Because people can be easily moved by their emotions, pathos is a powerful mode of persuasion. When you think about appealing to pathos, you should consider all of the potential emotions people experience. In an effort to appeal to pathos, use examples to illustrate your position. Think of the film as a visual argument and that it should include all (or most) of the elements that constitute a logically sound argument.
